Hi friends! Today, I want to share 3 cards I made using the same 5 sheets of 6×6 coordinated papers from the MFT paper pack, Sweet Celebration. This color block layout is a good way to use up those coordinated paper packs.
The easiest thing about these cards were choosing which papers to use. Since the entire pack is designed to work together, it was just a matter of choosing patterns that I thought work well together for this color block layout. Once I chose the papers, I cut each sheet 3 times to the dimensions shown below.
There will still be scraps of paper leftover even after cutting the 3 pieces of each color. Also notice that when the sections are placed together they make a typical panel size of 4 inches by 5.25 inches. Inspired by the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #439, I arranged the pattern blocks the exact same way for each card.
In this card, I glued the pieces directly to a white card base, leaving a thin strip of space between the blocks. I added the die-cut ‘dad’ and the stamped sentiment strip – easy peasy!
This card is a little different. This time I used the blocks to make a color block background. I cut a piece of cardstock to 4 in x 5.25 in and then glued the pieces edge-to-edge (see below). I then added the MFT ‘Best Wishes‘ die-namic and the onesie from the ‘LLD Bundle of Baby Clothes‘ die-namics to complete the card.
Well, that’s my share for the day. I hope you were inspired to use up some of those coordinated paper packs.
Happy Crafting Y’all, Erika
