Focus on the Sentiment – CAS Colours and Sketch Challenge #323

Hi Y’all. I’m checking in today to share a card that I am entering in the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #323.

I don’t really consider myself a clean and simple (CAS) card maker. It’s actually quite difficult for me. I always feel like I need “something else”. Anyhow, I’ve been wanting to play with this retired (I think) stamp and die set, ‘All About Dad’, from My Favorite Things .

As you can see from the giant photo above, this is a die-cut inlay card. I found some pretty paper from my stash and cut to 4 inches by 5.25 inches. I left the thin white strip from the original sheet for added interest. I then arranged the dies, including the on the panel and ran it through my die-cut machine. I cut the same images from plain white card stock. Carefully, I glued the panel to the card base and then inlaid the he die shapes into the matching cut-outs. Using my MISTI, I heat embossed the sentiment “You’re the Man” from the stamp set.

Note to self (and you): Do not throw away the tidbits from the die cuts you may need them to fill in the holes of the letters

This card was so quick and easy, I decided to use the positive pieces from the pretty scrapbook paper to make this clean and simple card for Father’s Day.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed this post. By the way, I need some good Father’s Day gift ideas for the men in my family. Comment below some of your ideas.

Happy Crafting Y’all, Erika
